Technology Refinement and Marketing

This is undertaken with the support of TIFAC (Under DST. Govt. of India). APTDC role is to facilitate Commercialization of Innovative Products & Services and to facilitate linkages of the developed Products and Innovative Technologies with the market.

TREMAP - Technology Refinement and Marketing plan is a programme conceived as an offshoot of the Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP) which was earlier implemented jointly by Technology Information Forecasting & Assessment Counsil (TIFAC) & Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), under Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.

Tepp supported Individual Innovators to make their Innovative ideas into working prototypes. It was felt that the prototypes developed under the programme were not commercialized as the products / processes were not ready for the market in terms of specifications and price. Another reason is that the innovators did not have the sufficient knowledge of the market links. Hence to fill in these two major gaps, the concept of TCFA (Technology Commercialization Facilitation Agency) has been conceived with a main objective to facilitate linkages of the developed products and innovative technologies with the market.

APTDC has been identified as one of the TCFA for this TREMAP programme of TIFAC. APTDC role as TCFA is to source useful innovations and technologies, to obtain innovators consent, technology details and marketing rights, doing a techno market scan and selection of potential technologies, preparation of the TREMAP plan and Implementation. The overall Objective of TCFA (APTDC) will be to identify suitable innovations / technologies to leverage it to the market with the support of TIFAC. APTDC is working with 15 inventors / prototypes to help them get their products commercialized.
