APTDC Chairman's Message

In the emerging competitive economy, the role of Indian Science has come to be regarded as one of the most powerful tools of growth and development. The Department of Science & Technology playing a pivotal role in the promotion of science and technology in our country has made it imperative for us to embark on some major science projects which have relevance to national needs and are of importance to tomorrow’s technology

Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) was set up at Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh by Confederation of Indian Industry, Government of Andhra Pradesh & Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC) with a mission to help industry in the state to become  globally competitive, handholding industry and entrepreneurs on multi disciplinary and cross functional technology needs by facilitating time and cost effective solutions through networking Institutions and facilitating Technology and IPR Services.

Since its inception in 1999, APTDC has provided concept-to- commissioning support in setting up of integrated Waste-to-Power Plants and MSW processing plants, maintained ongoing efforts in promoting value added applications in bamboo & granite. To foster an “IP Culture” which would enhance the intellectual capital which is vital for the economic development of the state, an IPR Facilitation cell was set up for providing IPR Protection, Advisory and Information services.

I would like to take the opportunity though this Annual Report to share with you the major achievements made by APTDC in the year 2009 -2010.

Dr. Tirumalachari Ramasami Chairman, APTDC Governing Body Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Science & Technology
